Live photos on the big screen at your party

Show all your guests' photos live on a TV or projector during the party. With Snaplet's live slideshow, photos roll in the very second they're uploaded — and the screen quickly becomes the conversation piece of the night.

Works for weddings, company parties, Christmas parties, birthdays, confirmations and any event with a screen. No extra app, no equipment rental — just a laptop and an HDMI cable.

Why live slideshows work at parties

A live photo slideshow is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to bring a party to life. It sets the mood, motivates guests to share photos, and takes almost no setup.

Sets the mood

When guests see their own photos on the screen in real time, a special energy emerges. People point, laugh and comment — and it gives the room life.

More uploads

When guests see that their photos actually get shown, they upload more. The live slideshow is the best motivator to get everyone involved.

A shared experience

Instead of every guest scrolling on their own phone, the photos become part of the party. Everyone watches them together — like a family album being built live.

Where does a live slideshow fit in?

  • Wedding — during dinner, while speeches are running, or on the dance floor
  • Christmas party and company party — as a backdrop on the big screen in the venue
  • Confirmation, christening and birthday — on the TV in the living room or party hall
  • Student party, graduation party and end-of-year events — fun atmosphere from the start
  • Conferences and corporate events — as brand activation on the big screen

How to set up the live slideshow

The whole setup takes less than 5 minutes. You don't need extra software, subscriptions or special hardware — just what you probably already have.

  1. 1

    Create an event in Snaplet

Log in at app.snaplet.dk and create a new event. You automatically get a unique QR code and a live gallery link tied to it.

  2. 2

    Connect laptop to a screen

Connect your laptop to the party's TV or projector via HDMI, or wirelessly with Chromecast/AirPlay. The screen mirrors what your laptop shows.

  3. 3

    Open the live gallery page

In Snaplet admin you'll find the link to the live gallery. Open it on your laptop and press F11 for fullscreen. The slideshow starts automatically.

  4. 4

    Let guests upload

Print the QR code and place it where everyone can see it. Guests scan with their phone camera and upload photos — which appear in the slideshow instantly.

Technical requirements

The live slideshow is built to work with everyday gear. Here's what you need:

Laptop or tablet

You need one device with a modern browser:

  • Laptop (Mac, Windows, Linux) — recommended for fullscreen and stability
  • Tablet (iPad, Android) — also works, but HDMI output requires an adapter
  • Mini-PC (Intel NUC, Raspberry Pi 4+) — perfect for a permanent setup

Connection to a screen

You need to send picture from the laptop to a TV or projector:

  • HDMI cable — the most stable solution, audio and picture in one
  • Chromecast or AirPlay — wireless, requires stable WiFi
  • Adapter (USB-C to HDMI) — if your laptop doesn't have an HDMI port

Stable internet

The live slideshow fetches photos from Snaplet's servers, so the venue needs WiFi or mobile data. Contact the venue in advance and test the connection before guests arrive.

Screen or projector

Any TV with an HDMI input, or any projector, works. We recommend at least a 32" screen so the photos fill the room — but it also looks great on a larger projector.

Pro tip: Test the setup at least an hour before guests arrive. Upload a test photo from your own phone and confirm it appears in the slideshow. That gives you time to fix any WiFi or HDMI problems.

Live slideshow fits every type of party

Snaplet is used for everything from intimate dinners to large corporate events. The live slideshow works regardless of guest count.
