1. Introduction

At Snaplet I take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how I collect, use and protect your personal data when you sign up for the newsletter or use the service.

2. What information is collected?

Email address: When you sign up for the newsletter.
Technical data: Such as IP address, browser information and similar details when you visit the website.
Guest ID at events: When you open an event gallery, your browser receives a random ID (the snaplet_gt cookie, 1 year, plus a locally stored token). It links your uploads to you so you can see your own photos, and is used for nothing else.

3. How is your information used?

To send you newsletters and relevant updates.
To improve the service and the user experience.
To comply with applicable law.

4. Third-party providers

I use MailerLite to manage newsletters. Your information is not shared with other third parties without your consent.

5. Storage and security

I store your information securely and only for as long as necessary. I have implemented technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

When a gallery closes, the photos are deleted automatically. They may still exist in the backups for up to 30 days, after which they are removed on their own. The backups are used solely to restore data after a failure, never for statistics, analysis or any other purpose.

Guests at events: photos, audio and face search

As a guest you upload without an account. Your guest ID is just a technical key: it shows you your own photos, lets the host block abuse, and is used when the host has chosen a private gallery, where you only see your own uploads. The ID is deleted along with the event.

Some events have face search ("find my photos"). It only processes YOUR face if you actively enable it and give consent, and the computed face data is used solely to find your photos within that one event. You can press "forget me" at any time, which deletes your face data immediately, and everything is deleted in any case when the event expires. Face data for guests without consent is purged automatically every night, and nothing is used for AI training or any other purpose.

Recorded audio and video greetings are treated like photos: they live in the event’s private gallery, follow the same deletion deadlines, and can be downloaded by the host along with the rest.

6. Your rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in the emails.
You have the right to access, correct or delete your information.
