Shared photo album for events: get photos from EVERY guest
The first thing most people try is a shared album on iPhone. It works fine — right up until the first guest with an Android wants to join. Then half the room is locked out, and half the photos from your day only exist on phones you will never see.
Here is why it goes wrong, and what to do instead in five minutes.
Why shared albums struggle at a party
Shared albums are built for a family, not for eighty people who meet on a single evening.

Android cannot join
Apple shared albums need an Apple ID. Roughly half your guests are on Android, so at best they can open a link and look, but not add their own photos.

The invitation has to be accepted
Every guest has to receive an invitation, find it, and tap accept. At a party that does not happen. People are there to celebrate, not to dig through notifications.

The album does not update
Shared albums sync when the phone feels like it, not when you need it. In a venue where eighty phones share one wifi it can take hours, and the guest assumes her photo never arrived.

You have to know everyone in advance
You cannot invite guests whose number or email you do not have. At a wedding that is usually half the guest list.
What to do instead
One QR code on the tables. The guest scans it with the camera, picks her photos and is done. No app, no login, no invitation, and it makes no difference whether she has an iPhone or an Android.
1. Create the event
It takes under five minutes and you get a QR code straight away. You do not need to know who is coming.
2. Put the code on the tables
Print it as place cards or a poster by the entrance. Many hosts also put it on the big screen so it is there all evening.
3. The photos collect themselves
Everything lands in one gallery you can see immediately and download together afterwards. Guests can see them too, if you want.
